Everest's North Ridge is the classic route on the North side of the mountain. The ridge runs up the face to meet the Northeast Ridge at camp three, at 8,300 meters. From there the climbers will traverse via the famous first and second steps leading to Everest's summit at 8,848 meters (29,028 feet).
