Hot Springs Canyon

This is the confluence of Hot Springs Canyon and Wildcat Canyon in the Muleshoe Cooperative Management Area. Native fish such as the Gila chub, Sonoran sucker, desert sucker and speckled Dace can be seen in the pools of this creek. The albino looking canyon tree frog also can be seen along these perennial streams. This area contains a good mosaic of trees ages and sizes, another indication the stream is functioning well. Even though desert floods roll large cobbles and gravels over the willows along the stream bank, they spring back up and continue to help stabilize the banks.
